Shannon Skjerseth
Hi, my name is Shannon. My path has nearly created a star from Florida to Michigan then NYC, San Diego, Chicago and finally CO. I have called Fort Collins home since 2015 and love raising my 2 children with my husband in this incredible community.
I specialize in working with perinatal women and parents who are navigating complex reproductive journeys, as well as educating and empowering individuals around sexual wellness. My educational background includes a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Gender and Health from the University of Michigan, a certificate in Promoting Sexual Wellness from Indiana University’s Center for Sexual Health Promotion, and a graduate certificate in Advanced Clinical Behavioral Health from Colorado State University. I will have earned a Master of Social Work degree from Colorado State University in 2027.
I am passionate about nurturing a safe, inclusive space where clients can explore relationships, reproductive health, and sexuality without shame. My dedication to sex-positive care includes normalizing talking about sex and encouraging clients to reconnect with their bodies and relationships.
My goal as your therapist is to help you focus on strengths, build confidence, cultivate a more hopeful and empowered outlook, and surrender to the flow. The modalities I would be honored to explore with you include Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Somatic practices, and Ecotherapy.
I value connection, community, and joy. It gives me great pleasure to bring people together, whether that is through a delicious meal, a good book, playing cards, or experiencing music. Riding my cruiser bike as my main mode of transportation is one way I take care of my body, mind, and spirit. I also believe humor and laughter can be powerful tools for connection, healing, and perspective.
