Sarah "Minnow" Caston MSW, CSW
Hi, and welcome. My legal name is Sarah, although I go by Minnow—a nickname I’ve had for many years. I’m a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with a Master’s in Social Work from Colorado State University, and I earned my bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Bemidji State
University. I’ve called Colorado home for the past 20 years.
My professional background includes extensive work in victim advocacy, crisis response, outreach, and grief support. I’m deeply committed to supporting individuals who have experienced trauma and marginalization, and I strive to create a space where people feel seen,
supported, and empowered in their healing journey.
Starting therapy takes courage, and continuing the work requires strength and resilience. I take a collaborative and compassionate approach, grounded in strengths-based, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care. In sessions, I draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, psychoeducation, and EMDR. I also
sometimes incorporate art and nature into the therapeutic process. My work is informed by an
attachment-based perspective, recognizing the importance of connection and relationships in healing.
Many of the people I work with are navigating complex trauma or grief that impacts multiple areas of their lives. My goal is to offer compassion and hope while honoring each person’s unique story, voice, and strengths.
Outside of my work, I enjoy spending time with my husband, two children, and our animals. I
love being outdoors—camping, snowboarding, and hiking—as well as quieter activities like
reading, sewing, and baking.
